Description

Pawing can happen anywhere, and it's always an annoyance that can cause property damage and even injury to your horse. Martin Saddlery offers a safe solution to prevent and even cure pawing behavior with its pawing chains. Sold as a pair, one for each leg, each Hermann Oak leather strap fastens above your horse's knee with a buckle for precise adjustment. A chain hangs from the strap to tap your horse's cannon bone each time he paws. The slight discomfort of the tap deters your horse from continuing to paw. Martin Saddlery strap is hand-oiled and hand-finished the traditional cowboy way. Some variations in leather tones may occur.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do pawing chains do?

They help stop pawing. A chain hangs from a strap and taps the horse's cannon bone each time it paws, which discourages the habit.

Are they sold as a pair?

Yes. They're sold as a pair, one for each front leg.

How do they attach?

Each Hermann Oak leather strap fastens above the knee with a buckle for precise adjustment.

Are they safe?

They're designed as a safe solution. The tap causes only slight discomfort, enough to deter pawing.

Why stop pawing?

Pawing can damage stalls and trailers and can even injure your horse.
