Tyler Schaffner
Why he rides the Cowboy: Tyler spends long days starting colts and putting miles on green horses, so he needs a saddle that keeps him secure and in a correct position. The dropped plate rigging hugs his horse for stability when he ropes, and helps for cinch relief. With the fenders set forward, his feet stay out in front of him for balance, and the shaved seat keeps him close to his horse from the first ride of the day to the last.
Latigos on Both Sides
He can tighten from either side when a horse draws up during a long day or when he switches horses.
Dally or Tie-On Horn
It’s tall enough to dally on but not so tall that it gets in the way when he ties on.
Skirt Cutout
It brings him closer to his horse for more contact and comfort.
Proven Tree Fit
The Martin tree has fit horses from 2-year-olds to an 8-year-old with no roll, and Tyler says it felt broke-in from the first ride.
